Hwange National Park is famous for massive numbers of its elephant herds. Staying at Ivory Lodge, located in the forestry area on the outskirts of the park, offers family-friendly safari experiences and is famous for its exhilarating up-close sightings of the Presidential Elephant Herd. The Lodge comprises of a Main Thatched dining and lounge area overlooking a guest swimming pool and a watering hole which is frequented by elephants, predators and a number of plains game species.
Upon arrival at the Victoria Falls Airport, you will be met by your guide/driver and transferred to Ivory Lodge. The drive will take approximately two hours of safe driving. After check-in, we will embark on a late afternoon game drive in the private concession of the famous Hwange National Park, depending on game movement. This is a three-hour drive that extends well into the night, and there are good chances of encountering the big cats.
The day will start with a morning breakfast after which guests will enjoy the Hwange National Park Safari Experience. This can be a game drive in the private concession in the Hwange National Park. Game drive routes through the park or the concession depend on the guide’s recommendation with regards to where the wildlife is. The game drive can either be morning and afternoon with brunch served at the lodge; or a full-day safari experience.
This will be your last day and guests will do a morning game drive in the private concession then check out after breakfast. The airport transfer times will depend on your flight schedule. Guests will be transferred by road to Victoria Falls Airport for a goodbye carrying memories of the safari experience and looking forward to meet again.
