Kuburi Wilderness Area

Kuburi is the Zimbabwe Wildlife Society’s attempt to protect the varied eco-systems east of Kariba town.

It is an area of hills and rivers in which lion and elephant roam the mopane forests of the valley, and many fish stock the Zambezi River.

Part of the Zambezi Escarpment runs through the park as does the Zambezi Gorge in the north. This part of Zimbabwe gets incredibly hot during the Summer months and just ordinarily hot at other times.
